see!!!!?!?!?! i told you blue would look good!!

also, you should mould in the whole expansion port section of a 64 controller onto the back of the case instead of just the plug so a mem card or rumble pack can lock in like it normally would. you may have already thought of that idea though ;)

you win the contest! I really like it.

I didn't put much thought into taking that whole section of the controller, but the more I think about it, the cooler it sounds. I won't chance it with this portable, but maybe in the future.

Some of the rumble packs also have a memory card included; using a switch to alternate between them; one pack does both things. This means you could have your rumble pack and memory card. Good idea to change the rumble motor for a normal one for best effect.

I don't think any have a mem card actually included, but they have an extra slot for one and a switch to switch between the two. The Tremor pak plus is one of these (the only one I've ever used) but its pretty big.

no, they do exist. bacteria used the one that he's describing in his multi platform system. I looked around for the joytech combo he used but couldn't find one. The relocation was the next best solution.

Alright, I'm pretty much just assembling everything now.

I thought I could just leave that big hole in the back of the case, for some reason. It was soo many uglies that I had to make a panel like sifuf's to hide the insides from view. I just cut a square of styrene and rounded the edges then spray painted it

I glued in the cartridge slot and I was worried I'd mess it up and the cartridge wouldn't fit right and you'd have to finagle it every time you inserted a game. meh, worked out great.

I didn't realize when I first wired everything that wires wouldn't be the right lengths for use inside a case. I guess it was more just to show myself I could run it off a screen and battery. I've had to almost wire everything from scratch, which isn't a bad thing, because I feel 10x more proficient than before.

Now, let me tell you about a dream I had. I was at work and I was so excited to show everyone my completed portable. I had told so many people about it and they were excited to see it, as well. I pulled it out of my backpack and went to turn it on... but it didn't work. The mother board had fried. I was laughed at and told by everyone that it was all a lie. You see, I haven't powered on my N64 since that picture on the first page and while I abused it quite a bit before, it manged to still work. I've moved since then and handled it a lot. I'm planning on testing it tomorrow, but man, what a nightmare. sorry, I never said it was a good story...

Whatever, that story isn't that bad! And your case looks so pro, I hope the thing turns on... I got my fingers crossed for ya.

if you want to make the paint a bit more durable go get some rustoleum clear coat spray and apply about 5-7 THIN THIN THIN coats of it over the blue paint

These are the memory and rumble combined packs; only thing is the memory is only 256mb as I recall, however if you tend to play a few games at a time that is fine. You notice the switch for "M"emory and "R"umble settings?

This is my spare one, when I make my N64 into my new (existing) case, I will salvage the bits from my old Multi project, including the memory/rumble pack, if it gets damaged I will use my spare.

I am sure there are some of these on e-bay:

It still works. Man, I can't believe it. I'm sorry that everyone else has had so many problems with them.

I cut off a piece of aluminum from one of the N64's metal sheets and folded it up to make a heatsink for the expansion pack. Can I just superglue it to the memory or do I have to buy some heatsink gel stuff? I'm trying to be cheap.

I don't have any room to make it thicker on the memory. It unfortunately worked out that way.

I was trying to attach the aluminum to the memory and then fold it around to the other side where it could accordion a bit.
