They make you take classes that have nothing to do with your education because only learning stuff you absolutely need in your job would mean that as a society, we would be stupid and ignorant.Jongamer wrote:It sure seems like college these days is a big huge scam to get money (not saying it is, just seems like it)
I mean what is up with this BS, they force you to go take and pay for entry classes that have NOTHING to do with your Profession and have no significant value.
Oh and I'm Sorry there is no reason for College professors to make as much they do, they barely do more than an average High School Teacher..
And college professors, excepting those in the really fancy schools, make hardly anything.

Excellent

College professors, at least at my school, don't make a huge amount. I'd guess they make slightly more than high school teachers, which seems about right to me.Jongamer wrote:Oh and I'm Sorry there is no reason for College professors to make as much they do, they barely do more than an average High School Teacher.
As for your whole, 'why should I take courses that don't apply?' rant, I agree, some of the classes I've taken I think will prove of little use. Others, however, have taught me how to look at a problem and analyze it from different perspectives to help me solve it. And then there's a lot to be said about getting a broad overview of how the world works. Knowledge is power, to be cliche, but just understanding the theory behind things can be more helpful than you might think.

Yeah I see what you guys are saying now. I still wouldn't pay for a class that I did not want to take.
And as for the professors getting payed too much comment, well at least at Wright State University they get payed too much, which I can walk to from my house.

FOR THE LOVE OF EVERY THING THAT Is HOLLY GO TO A gOOd SCHOOL AND GET THE copulate ON WITH YOUR LIVES... some people are lucky not to have to see it that way. a lot of schools are a huge waste. My last sit down thing at a collage was such a gong show. I went to an open house for an art school I thought was sorta cool. I got it, I sat down. After maby 30 minutes I left pissed that it took that long to show me how much "art" is every ware. basicly no life drawing, no real animation set up. (I mean I've built most of what they had over and over again.) and just to slap me in the face with how much of a scam it was, we got to watch some student projects. During which more students came in. Some spolied crap mother sat next to me and asked me to move over wile I was asking a question about some of the portfolios we where looking at, so her son and her could sit togeather. I dont are if your a spioled crap, Great you wont have a good concept of value I will always have a leg up on that. Just Get your mother the copulate out of my field of vision when I'm asking a question.
In short camosun in Victoria is a daycare for little dick crap who just practice signing there names over and over again.

After a lengthy discussion with my associate dean of engineering with another student trying to solve an overcrowding problem in our math class, somehow I ended up learning this tidbit of information, which I was specifically asked not to blurt out to anybody.
McMASTER UNIVERSITY ONLY PUBLISHES PROFESSOR'S SALARIES HIGHER THAN $100,000 PER YEAR. SOME PROFESSORS MAKE SUBSTANTIALLY LESS, YOU JUST DON'T HEAR ABOUT THEM.
Ahem...
So anyways, how about that weather?

It's currently 30 degrees here; I think it was up around mid-fifties or sixties today. Crazy Nevada weather as usual. It especially sucks since I finally pinned my Dad down and got him to promise to take me skiing.
Now, about college: I'm a sophomore now, but due to my unique situation (being homeschooled), I'll have to go to the community college for two years before I can get into an actual college.
