Potrable Power Source?

If you take 5 volts from the PSone Screen do you need a 7805 on the SNES?? Please be gentle!

Yeah; the PSOne screen 7805s only handle 300mA or somewhere around there, the SNES draws more than that (after the PSOne uses the regulators for it's own components). So you'll have to use the SNES 7805 or replace all 3 (1 on SNES, 2 on the screen) regulators with a more efficient one.

You lost me because in bens book it says

1. Connect a wire to the +5 volts source from your pocket TV. This spot is indicated in

2. Connect the other end of the regulated power wire to spot 3 on the SNES board as indicated
in Figure 9-10.
3. Connect ground/spot 2 from the SNES to ground on the TV (also indicated in Chapter
4) or to the negative lead of the battery.

It does not mention a 7805! Now I am more confused!!!!!!

Probably should go to Radio Shack and buy u a 7805 regulator, they are sure to carry it. It will bump down voltage to 5 volts, but if u buy a seperate regulator u have no reason to attach it to the PSone screen mobo. He was just mentioning a way to avoid buying one, but their real cheap considering.

So basically this, take your battery leads, connect them to the regulator properly and route the output from the regulator to your SNES mobo.

If you have junk electronics then have a smashing day and take out all the best bits and discard the plastic and put all the screws in your collection.

I bet you have at least 2 7805s in your house but a lot of them are probably in use

Radio shack trip! Make a list, think what you didnt have before and decide how many random LEDs you want to get. haha.
