hack psp screen to accept RGB

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

hack psp screen to accept RGB

Post by blaze3927 »

hi
basically im going off the sticky which says the psp screen can be hacked to accept rgb. And since psone's output rgb would it be possible to "wire them up" to have a psp, with a psp screen (lolz).

It would be possible, but that hack is so hard to pull off that you will be far better off using a PSone LCD. The resolution is weird, too, it would look stretched out, and with the PSP's low refresh rate, it would be REALLY blurry. :(

So, while possible, too expensive, too hard, and too limited to be useful.

Similar question at bit-tech (but they wanted it for a computer and so do i)

http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=161428

the guys hear http://www.lcdinfo.com/products/usbd480-lq043.html have USB controllers for the screen. but not sure about rgb just was kinda in the same direction.

EDIT
Further investigation in the forums at that site
Adding analog input to the current design would take some work. But if there is demand for interface boards with analog input then a version with analog inputs could be considered also.
