problem with metroid

Post by themadhacker »

I just bought metroid for nes and it won't work in my retro duo. I cleaned the contacts on the game until they gleamed, but it still won't work. However, once when I turned on the system, the game came on, but everything was glitchy, liney, and pixelated. I do not have any actual nes console to teston, but the exact thing happens with my dragon warrior(except once in a great while that works).

So any Ideas on what's wrong?

Sounds like the game inset making full contact with the connector on the board. You said its a third party ness right?

There is a good chance that it's the system contacts. On many new products, there is a anti-corrosion film left on metal after manufacturing. In any case, its worth a try to clean the system.

I'll try that when I get home from school. Never thought that would be the system since it's new.

I had a similar problem with my nes clone. The connectors on them seem to be poorly made. Some games would work okay, but others would only work if you pushed the cartridge backwards. So I shoved a piece of pc board in front of the game and it worked.

Heh, that is how I get my dad's old 8-track tapes to work.
