Post by mmoshkowich »

I'm Finally starting my portable. I just attempted to LED mod the screen. Not sure how I did but will check soon! I also removed all the heat sinks on the SNES mini just started desoldering stuff. It's tougher than it looks. I am going to build this and my deadline is March 1st (the portabalaza contest) probally not gonna win but It's worth a shot.

List of things I gotta do
- Test Led Mod
- Desolder everything
- Get it working
- Make a case
- Join the contest

wish me luck guys!

P.S. - I will update pics as soon I can get my hands on my mom's digital camera because my phone wont take good pics!

Just a pic to show I'm a little serious! I desoldered the reset button and relocated one UF Capacitor. I HATE DESOLDERING  it sucks but i will get over it

I will be out of commision for a little bit  because I burned the side of my hand with the soldering Iron. It is hard to see because I have burn gel on it but its all down the pinky and on the hand. I was cleaning up and my hand grazed the desoldering iron (yet another reason to hate desoldering). It hurts so f**kin bad. I will be back as soon as it heals!

Ouch. I know how you feel friend...when I was younger, I had burned myself many a time  scars from two occasions are still somewhat visable to this day.

Hope you heal quickly!

 it happens. You get used to having something hot in your workspace. My problem is forgetting that the whole iron gets hot. I still melt all kinds of stuff without realizing until I smell it.

I crossed the (uninsulated) wires leading to a couple batteries one time. I didn't even notice my finger was being burnt until I smelled it and saw a little smoke.
