I've been using it for a bit (on it now), it's really nice! All the little quirks in details really make the operating system great (roll over taskbar icons, they glow in the average color of the taskbar's icon).

Can't wait to see what else they've got to add before final release.

I think soon I'll have to find a Windows alternative.

Someone should program something exactly like windows, so it runs all the programs and such, for free.

To the naked theme-happy eye yes, but no service pack I'm aware of has ever completely revamped the operating system's user shell to decrease CPU usage up to two times more than its previous versions. :)

The appealing improvement with Windows 7 is that it looks quite beautiful, while retaining performance (where Vista fails to perform!).

I'm on Windows 7 right now.

Specs:

3.0 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 CPU
8GB DDR2 1066 Ram
ATI Radeon HD4870 Graphics Card
Creative Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS Sound Card
250GB WD HDD
DVD Drive
DVD Burner
Powered by Beastly 950W Modular Power Supply

DAMN OLD HARD DRIVE!!! Not counting it, I would have a 6.7/7.9, Not bad at all! Besides, The WEI doesn't even matter.

I got Windows 7 64-bit beta downloading right now. I'm currently at 8% downloaded.

And thanks to my Second hard drive (which is 40GB). I put in this computer while back. I can still keep Windows XP on my main Hard Drive. And use my second Hard Drive for Windows 7.

That's a really hard thing to do, but Linux does have something called WINE which is a windows compatibility layer that allows you to run many windows applications. doesn't work for everything, but it is a step in the right direction.

Would it be easily possible to just remove Vista and put this on my PC? My product key is on the side of my PC for Vista so... I wouldn't lose all my files would I?

I know I sound like a huge noob now. But better safe than sorry.
