Limiting number of posts per timeframe:

Post by jjhammerstein »

Everyone knows it happens.
You his submit more than once, even by accident, and you get multiple posts.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I have a finicky track pad the loOoves to double-click.

How about limiting the number of posts per second to "one"?
That way, when you click submit too many times, you only get one post anyway.

Yay? Nay?

How about learning an age old technique called PATIENCE.

If your track pad is finicky, take it apart and fix it. We're benheckers.

That's a terrible solution.
Also, I have a twitchy thumb, it's only 45ºF in my house.

I have a Wireless mouse and I have only double posted like 3 times here in the last 4 years.

That's less than once a year! Not worth bothering about tbh

Good idea, but considering the effort it'd take for the mods to implement it (And they might not even have sufficient privileges), it's really not worth it.

On the forums I've admin'd on, there was a box that you could type the time limit into.
It was super easy.

I don't know how this one works.

Also, disassembling trackpads on PowerBooks is really hard.
I tried before on a scrap computer, and destroyed it.

There's glue involved, and weird plastics and films and things that are way out of my league.
