What to do with a Broken Cell Phone

Today I dropped my flip phone (a cingular CU515 flip phone), and it broke at the hinge and the ribbon wire connecting the screen and the key pad was cut. There is really no way that I know to reconnect the ribbon wire since there are so many separate wires inside. The phone is in complete working order, and I can still make calls and talk when I put it on speaker phone. There are no problems with it, and I was wondering if you guys have any ideas what I should do with it, being an amateur hacker and modder.

he didnt link anything, he just gave you the idea of use the phone controls to make a custom nintendo (nes) controller, there is also another ideas, like use the phone controls to some other kind of controller or circuit wich can use some buttoms, just use imagination, you also can use the phone rumble motor , to add rumble feature to a portable or just make smaller a cuarent controller

At the very least, harvest the motor and battery. They're fun/useful for random projects.

I say if you really want some practice, go out and buy some 32 or so gauge wire, a really fine tip for a soldering iron, and try to reconnect the contacts from the ribbon cable first. It's good precision soldering practice.
