Resistors in series

If I wire two 1k resistors in a series, will be the equivalent of a 2k resistor?
This might be a stupid question, but I don't know the answer.

Not entirely stupid, other things like capacitors dont work like that.

Resistors are nice though, they act pretty 'normal'. lol.

capacitors act the opposite way. Two in parallel add. Can't really say either isn't "normal"

they are added, not multiplied. Also, As how I pointed out, it's in parallel for capacitors, as opposed to resistors. You have not been listening! :P

I didn't think of a series as the opposite of parallel.
I thought you meant "the opposite of addition is subtraction."

Mmkay, here's the breakdown. When you put resistors in series, their values add. Put them in parallel, and the wattages add.
Put capacitors in series, and the voltages add. Put them in parallel, and the capacitance adds.
