this is my first portable i'm working on and i bought a bt45 polaroid dvd player battery and i was testing everything so i connected it only to the psone screen and turned on the power switch and i heard a small poping static noise from the speakers and then it doesn't turn on anymore.
was it bad for me to just wire the battery up to the screen?
i was looking at harshboy's wiring diagram and it wired the power straight to the psone screen with out having to run it through the regulator so i thought it would be ok.
im hoping i just blew a fuse or something so i can glob solder over it.
i tried powering it up with the power adapter the screen came with and it doesnt power up anymore
does anyone know what i did wrong? and can i save my screen?

how many volts was your battery? how many mAh was it? I don't really know much about the screens, except how to led mod them

ok thanks, im looking at the two battery things and its two 3.7V batteries so that makes 7.4V but im still going to not connect it and ill check the output of the batteriesKyo wrote:and after you bridged the fuse - don't connect the battery again directly. your battery may have recharged to more than 9V. The ps1 screen can take 7-9V so you need to connect a voltage regulator. It doesn't sound like you know too much about electronics so get a multimeter to measure everything before connecting it. A good voltage regulator that is easy to use is the de swadj step down regulator at dimension engineering.

ok so i have bridged the fuse and i plugged it into the wall power adapter it came with to make sure it was the right voltage and everything just to test it out to see if it works. The backlight does not light up anymore at all, the lcd is still working fine, i held it up to the light and got picture out of it. Does anyone have any ideas of how to fix it?
