building a hybrid n64p

Post by narutogod22 »

yo! how is it going guys? i was wondering if i built a mini computer that's sole
function is to play n64? like i build all the parts and it boots up to an emulator? i am working on design and stuff. im getting a job so i can buy all the parts tell me if this is possible oh and lease no flaming.

EDIT if ound this mini mainboard online
http://www.e-itx.com/via-epia-px5000g.html
now i can just buy a small screen n64 ocontroller and possibly a mini keyboard if they sell those things.
what i was thinking was using the n64 analog stick as a mouse/keyboard thing like an onscreen keyboard.
GOT IT it also has a PX-O I/O board
which i can use for a mini keyboard and n64 controller at the same time for instance i have the xbox 360 messenger pad modded to work as a normal keyboard and the n64 controller as a "gamepad" oh and does anyone know where i can get a 4-6" pc screen because it has the screen jack but i couldnt find one small enough OR does the ps one/zenith screen have an..... SHOOT totally forgot what its called but you use it as a computer screen

just in case your wondering big this thing is here is the mainboard PX 0 board a 4gb flashdrive
all ina game boy
http://www.mini-itx.com/reviews/pico-it ... asp?page=9
scroll all the way down

ok if i am going to use a keyboard i found one
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0011FOOI2

but how would incoporate the keyboard n64 controller like have the screen slide up for keyboard access

It's possible, but there is really no point. You might as well just get a Pandora once it has an n64 emu. The thing is that using a small computer will be really expensive, power hungry, hot and heavy.

Then do that instead.

Also, I hope you don't mean that, the N64 has the silliest layout of any controller ever.

Do a PS layout, it's the best.
(Doesn't Pandora already use that?)

You do it however you feel comfortable though.

the pandora has a SNES layout + two analog next to the dpad and buttons, so yeah, sorta. The PS1 layout is heavily based on the SNES anyway (as it was originally a disk addon for it)
