I did it! I made EAGLE!
I finally did it. I passed my Border Review and I have achieved the Boy Scot Rank, Eagle. The highest rank that can be achieved in Scouting. I've been in Scouting since Cub Scouting. And I have finally made it to Eagle.
Now I must plan my Eagle Ceremony. I'm going to have in the coming month or two.
Anyways, I'm so happy now! But in shock that i made it.

Way to waste a large portion of your life.
Learn anything cool from it?
Can you start a fire from things gathered in a forest? Excluding an American inner city "forest" where you can drain a gas tank of an abandoned car and use a rock to set old books on fire using some dropped ammunition. Stuff like that doesn't count. (Okay so I exaggerate a bit. What I mean is: no lighters/matches/flint).

That's freaken awesome man!
Making eagle is really a great acheivment, it looks great on any resume..plus, if you join the armed services, it gives you an automatic rank boost
Scouts freaken roxorz! I know I truely enjoyed the time I spent in the scouts.
Too bad I couldn't make eagle..I joined just a little too late. I turned 18 a few months before I was eligable for eagle. Otherwise, I was more than qualified, lol.
Ah well, congrats and then some sir!

Congrats!! I to am a Eagle and so is my Grandfather. By far the most proud accomplishment of my life. It is the one of the primary reasons I got into UT and that they are paying most of my tuitionnightwheel wrote:I finally did it. Seriously Kurt? Go troll elsewhere. Scouting is much more about surviving in the wilderness. It is about teaching people to be kind to fellow man and how to be a morally responsible person. Do a good turn daily.

Good job nightwheel! You will be using a lot of those things you learned for the rest of your life. I came within two merit badges of getting Eagle, but I had a fulltime job + school and only a few months left, and my troop was getting restructured.
It's not easy, and I'd bet it feels good to have it behind you.
Kurt, you're a jerk. And horribly ignorant. Way to go.

Sorry you didn't get to enjoy being in an active Scout troop. You probably didn't get to go on very many interesting trips, did you?Jongamer wrote:I quit Boyscouts.
Too friggin' boring for my likes.
Congratulations, man! Coincidentally, my Scout troop just had an Eagle Scout reunion banquet Monday night. It was great getting to see many old friends and even some guys who got Eagle back in the '90s. My older brother, younger brother, and I are all Eagles.

Yeah our troop didn't do much at all, most we did were local things.Life of Brian wrote:Sorry you didn't get to enjoy being in an active Scout troop. You probably didn't get to go on very many interesting trips, did you?Jongamer wrote:I quit Boyscouts.

meh, I loved cub scouts, but when I got to boy scouts, I diddn't like it much. what really made me quit is the fact that I gained a rank, and the scout masters didn't care enough to pay attention and forgot about it. I had gotten my badge, but when we went to our monthly scout ceremony thing, the leader anounced in front of everybody that I was the newest scout, and they gave me the scout (staring rank) badge. I wasn't even the newest meber, and I had been in scouts for a year.Arrow--> wrote:I've got a long way to go before eagle I have one thing to go before star
Themadhacker dropped out awhile back
I also quit, because the older scouts tried to get me in trouble by swapping the contents of my mega-sized plastic mug with half drank beer that they found in some bushes.
I know enough skills and values without scouts.
rest in peace, Ronnie James Dio! \m/
