PSP Phat USB charging mod question.

I know that PSP Phats can be modded to be charged via USB ports.

But after doing the mod, can you still plug in a regular adapter in it and charge it that way? Would it pump +5V 2000mA into the PSP's USB port? Would that damage the hardware?

The psp will be fine. I did this mod to my psp 2 years ago and it still works great!
