I play airsoft like every week.

Yet, listen to me here.

1) Make sure it has an orange tip.
2)Are you 18? If not, stay away from airsoft until then. You wont be able to go to any games until your 18. (Legally).
3) Airsoft is a waste of cash unless your going to games.
4) If its metal your going to get very tired from carrying it (REAL m4s are actually mostly plastic.)
5) If its an AEG (Auto Electric Gun), make sure it shoots around 350-380 feet per second.
6) If its shell ejecting, dont use it. You'll lose the shells.

It will have the tip
I can go to games if im under 18 where I live
I will go to games
I like heavier guns better, and they are no strain, and I do not get tired
I know 350+ is a good FPS
And shells would be a pain in the ass to use(It was just a picture of a kind of gun I had in mind)Its just having a clip is better, and more efficent the one of these

Where the bbs are stored in it and fall into the chamber, sometimes causing them no clog, or not fall.

That's not a clip, that's a hopper.
Which is different from a magazine, which is a springloaded metal case full of pellets, which is different from a clip which has the rounds exposed in a strand.

Sorry
Im just used to saying clip more because when my friends and I play its faster and easier to say "Hand me a clip" "Got a spare clip" or "Im on my last clip"
Because it takes away 2 syllables.

DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT GET THAT SNIPER RIFLE.

Your making the WORST decision.

First: Sniping in airsoft is nothing compared to sniping with a real gun. Most of the time, a stock machine gun could shoot further than that sniper rifle in airsoft.

Second: If your looking to game with that, its out of the question. That gun shoots 400fps and up. You can actually seriously injure another airsoft player if your not properly trained with that gun. Also, most places wont let people they dont personally know use a sniper rifle.

Third: If your under 18, this is an even worse idea. Seriously man. Your better off with a cheap $30 machine gun that shoots 170 fps if your just going to be having fun with it. If your hunting, you do NOT want to use an airsoft gun. Instead use a airgun that shoots .122 cal metal BBs.

Fourth: Dont waste your cash.

EDIT: Also, never use one of those crappy airsoft scopes that hold BBs instead of actually functioning as a scope. They jam all the time.

And, if you play indoor your gun usually HAS to be clocked at: less than 300 fps. If your outdoors, its 380fps. Unless your using a sniper rifle. But trust me, even if you buy one, you risk seriously injuring someone else AND jail time. There is a MINIMUM ENGAGE DISTANCE with the sniper rifle. And trust me, its a LONG distance. To actually shoot someone with that sniper rifle, you will need to be more than 100ft away.

I know what Im talking about. Ive been in the sport for ages.

After telling him about that he OK'd me getting this style gun.
Is that a good one to choose?
I heard mixed reviews. Some saying its really good, others saying it breaks too easily. Any input?

I fail to see how a 6mm plastic pellet moving 400fps could cause any kind of injury beyond stinging a little unless you hit somebody in the eye. maybe if it was shooting .177 caliber metal (never in my life seen .122) at above 400fps then you would be liable to injure somebody or damage property. most "hunting" BB guns are a thousand FPS. anything less than that and its not likely your going to kill anything but maybe birds and anything less than 600fps you probably arent going to kill anything with one, but it would hurt like hell to get shot with one

i think you take airsoft a little too seriously HDC

I have been hit at 50 feet by a 600 fps airsoft gun on the arm (bare skin), and though it hurt like the dickens, I was left with nothing but a red welt at the end of the day.

And if you are gonna hit them in the eye/mouth, it would only take 200 fps to hurt a LOT.

And in California at least, you either have to be 16 to play, or you can be as young as 12 if you have your parents sign a waiver slip (Or if you know the people running the course. ;) )

EDIT: My friend has this gun, I have gotten shot by it, it hurts plenty.

Lets see. Go look at airsoft news on the net. a lot of people have been killed. And yes, I meant .177 not .122. Sorry.

Also, think about this. (This is to palmertech)

A machine gun 6mm .20BB going at 400fps hurts. a lot. Sure, may leave a big welt.

Now, a sniper rifle 8mm (or 6mm) .48 or larger BB going at 400+ fps (About 480), will break the skin. I know this for a 100 percent fact. Heck, think about what would happen if that hit you in the eye. It would go through the goggles (Ive seen it happen), and possibly blind or kill you.

Ive never in my life saw a 600fps AIRSOFT gun. Heck, legally here in Canada, they are under 500fps. As if its over 500fps, its considered a firearm. Ive been to a few US games, and Ive never saw or heard of a 600fps gun. Maybe someone extremely modded their bolt action sniper rifle, but thats insane to do.

Now, to the good part.

SONY, Pick up a Aftermath Kraken (ak47). It does have a clear part (Or atleast it does here in Canada), but the US version may not. Its THE best beginner airsoft gun. It shoots 380 fps, with a .20 BB. Its incredibly accurate, it has a version 2 gear box, the magazine that comes with it holds 400 rounds, its to scale and compatible with 100% of Tokyo Mauri/TM Ak47 parts. Heck, I even know I guy who took a de-activated AK47 and took its metal shell casing and put it on the Kraken AK.He didnt even have to modify anything. Also, the kraken AK has the MOST availiable parts for upgrade and repair. So, if the gun breaks, parts are readily avaliable. If you want to upgrade, you can order parts easily

It should go for about $90-$100 USD.

You can even buy a tactical rail kit for it, so you can attach a scope, laser, red dot, flash light, etc.

Heck, I have this gun. Its amazing. Great weight to it, comes with a strap, battery, charger, 1000 .20 BBs.

I do Military Simulation airsoft. I take it somewhat seriously, due to one of my freinds got seriously injured by a noob sniper before in a game. Hes now blind in 1 eye, thanks to that. Cant drive, cant play anymore.

Edit: Also, palmertechs link with the well m4 shows a decent gun, but it only has 330 fps. Also, the company "well" isnt that good of a gun maker. They've been unreliable with customer service and quality of the guns in the past. Be cautious if your gonna buy it. Do research on each gun.

i call bullsh!t on the fact that any airsoft gun can kill anybody unless you shoot them point blank in the eye. and if you have goggles that can be shot through by airsoft your doing it wrong
