Hmm... so maybe I could go with Triton and use the orginal processors and RAM, and put the rest of the video/audio/controller stuff in an FPGA...

Kind of like a hybrid redesign/not-really-OAC

Any non-videogame ideas? Robots? lots of people make robots... it dosent have to drive around, it can do anything.

Make a Rube Goldberg machine that automatically sets its self back up once it's used.

Guys there is already a Nintendo 64 On a Chip.

Check out the: iQue 64.

http://www.vidgame.net/NINTENDO/Nintendo/ique.jpeg

It actually takes little memory cards. Basically, it comes with 4 demos on it and one game. (Usually Dr. Mario 64). To get more games, you go to this game station thing in China and put the memory card in and download more games for a fee. Some sellers on ebay and such sell memory cards with games on them. On ebay, one of these iQue's with the demos, and TWO games. (Dr. Mario and one game of your choice), go for about... $80 USD.

It's as much of a N64 as a Nintendo DS. All those games for the iQue are Ports.

It won't be incredible if it's not the complete redesign, there's already too much hope.

But if all else fails, go with the cartridge emulator.

I got one of those to take apart a while back, they are NOT on a chip. It is a full board, not all that much smaller than the N64 one, and without a cart slot, it is near useless to us.

My vote would be an N64 flashcart.

My vote goes to making a GameCube use SD cards instead of the DVD's. I have a reasonable collection of GC games (originals of course) and would love a way to copy my original games to SD cards and play in a portable using original GC hardware.

i believe that has been made. I don't think it was ever released, though.

Just make the N64 flash cart. Yes a 64OAC would be nice...but having something done and useable is much better then waiting forever for something we might not even need anymore. Look at the FPGA NES. ure it's nice but it's barely complete last time I checked. It emulates much better then NOACS for sure but is it really worth my time to program all this when I have a ready made NOAC for maybe 15 bucks? My time alopne making that worth will be 100$ form all the programming form scratch I have to do. and buying the FPGA is probably the same or more as an NOAC...What I'm trying to say is You would actually finish something if you work on a smaller project. Then if it works you might get people to help you on your next project.
