I'm up for a Benheck TF2 or Garry's Mod event sometime next weekend.

I'll send you a group invite, Madc0w.
EDIT: Done. Check your invites!

Oh man, FlatOut and FlatOUt 2: $7.50 for both. Can't get these prices in the store.

Do you all blow? If so I'll play some too. Kurtbert is the name, dying in the first 15 seconds and watching the match is the game. (I only have CS: S)

I used to be pretty decent but last night my K/D spread was like 0.20 :P

I haven't played it in a year and was basically forced by typamc95 to get off Fallout 3 and play CS:S.

I've added those Steam friends. Anyone else want on?

Could probably do a L4D night next week, after I get back from MAGFest.

Hopefully I don't run into any Super-Mutants out there...

Wish I had a gaming computer
I haven't been here in awhile, and looking back it's one of the worst ideas I ever had. I'm back and I'll be here for awhile, I was quite active 1 year ago and I hope to become that again.

Anyone who's not in the Steam group, send me an email and I'll send you an invite. Please do NOT PM me here or through Steam for invite requests. Use the email button at the bottom of this post.

You don't need a supercomputer for a lot of these games. Some of them have been around a while (Counter-Strike came out in 2004, for example), so any PC made since then shouldn't have a problem running at one setting or another.

I've run Half-Life 2, Episode 1, Episode 2, and Audiosurf on a crappy old 1.4 ghz Pentuim III based Celeron PC with a Radeon 9250 graphics card.

My current 3.2 ghz Celeron D HTPC with a Radeon HD 2600 Pro AGP card can run the entire Orange Box, the games listed above, most fo the recent Need for Speed games, Bioshock, and even Crysis. (Yes, Crysis runs on a single-core P4 based Celeron. You just have to turn everything down to low. After that it runs at 20+ FPS.) By no means does it run everything perfectly, but on low to medium settings it can run a lot of things at a playable rate. (Not bad for a $200 DIY PC.)

My 2 ghz Turion 64 and Mobility Radeon Xpress 200m graphics equipped laptop can handle TF2 and Portal no problem. (In DirectX 8 mode with lots of crap turned down because the graphics chipset is barely a step above crayons and graph paper.) Hell, Half-Life 1 runs on a really old 500 mhz P3 Toshiba laptop we have, and it only has something like a Trident CyberBlade.

Even a $50 graphics card can tide you over if your CPU is up to snuff.

Also remember that when you buy a game on Steam, it's yours no matter what PC you use it on.

The two biggest games people play on Steam here are Counter Strike: Source and Team Fortress 2. Left 4 Dead is played a lot now too since it came out recently, but Counter Strike: Source is probably the most played.

PS: typamc95 sucks at CS:S :P
