Can't empty PSP memory stick

I have tried uploading a video to my PSP, in the right format and folder, and it wouldn't show up on my Videos folder on the system. I decided that I wasn't able to solve this problem and deleted it off of the stick. It was fine until I realized that I only had 16 of my initial 208 MB. The video was only 91 MB and it seems to have eaten my memory. I have tried ejecting the stick and leaving it out, turning my PSP off and leaving it off, and formatting the stick. Nothing is working.

Basically, there's nothing on my memory stick, and it still thinks it's full.
Help.

Yep.
It's the only computer I've got.

Well, technically one of 6 macs that I've got.
I have no PCs.

BINGO!

This is why I hate using my Macs!

The only way I have figured out how to fix this is to use a linux or windows computer, and it will NOW show a folder called ".trashes". Delete this folder, macs cannot see it, and PSP memory sticks have some sort of issue with macs.

If you cannot do this because you lack a windows computer, format the card (fat32, I think) and put all of your stuff back on (Make sure to backup the card first!)

I'm handy with macs, I can make it show hidden files.

I spent about 5 minutes trying to figure this out a few years back, and I finally just turned off the mac and went back to good old XP.

If I spent more time on my macs for stuff other than mac only stuff (Like iPod touch stuff) I would probably be a bit more handy with them. I like Windows, though. Nice and complicated, lots of menus, just the way I like it!

Run that in Terminal to show hidden files.

And to hide them again:

To make a hidden file, just have the file name begin with a period.
You can't do this straight off, you need to rewrite it with Terminal.

All you have to do is empty the trash while you have the memory stick mounted on the desktop

You don't have to make this more complicated than it is... Command+Shift+Delete

Macs are great! Too bad I don't have one.

That "problem" happens with all removable media, not just PSP sticks.

Nope, don't understand one bit.

I thought macs were supposed to be easier? I mean, in Windows, all I have to do is delete the old files. You know what they mean when it says "Delete"? It means it actually deletes it, not move it to a HIDDEN trashcan.

And how come instead of simply checking a box in the folder options, i would have to use terminal?

I think the problem with Macs is that to make them easy to use, they have to hide all the hard stuff, making it hard to accomplish more advanced stuff. I may be wrong, but that is my current take.
