Possible Super sony psp

I have read almost every forum and read everything there is about portables. I still havent made my own. At the moment highschool is ruling my life. But lots of my friends want to buy the sony psp coming out this spring. There are no big hard drives in the psp and memory sticks cost lots for very little space. The umd discs sony made are really awesome, but arent rewritable. If you bought a internal hardrive with large amounts of space (i'd use internal because they are cheaper) then ad a usp interface and a casing could add movies, songs, photos (depending on size) to this hardrive and run them on the psp? I've searched and searched, and i decided this was my last resort.

usp? USB maybe And no you cant. THe duo mem sticks dont talk ata so you cannot sub a hdd. I cant wait for my psp getting it in a week

well....there is a usb on the psp...why wouldnt it let you do that?

you need to have a controller then I wanna say PIC? or a sbc to control the data storage and transfer. It would be about as ig as a computer

if you used the sbvc cause you need a monitor or display

Well, I would say it's not gonna be as big as a computer, but it would be pretty cumbersome. And really, there are smaller things that let you do most of the same stuff, probably for less money.
Someone should make an adapter that goes in the MS Duo slot, and lets you hook up things like CompactFlash to it so at least the memory would be cheap.

If the PSP has a USB port, shouldn't an external USB hard drive work with it?

not necessarily....I mean, just 'cause something fits into the slot (in this case, a USB one) it doesn't mean it'll work on it.....you have to have the right kind of software on the device you're trying to get the USB device to work on.......

There's no universal adaptors which let you use CompactFlash cards with Memory Stick slots? IBM makes CF microdrives up to 2 gigs now...
