How good is LM2575 TI reg

You can use a 7808 regulator to get 8v.

She stopped letting me use it because I Solar Egg bought all his S-Cube parts through me, and he took forever to pay me back.

Use a 7805.
Far more common than the 7808, and you can make it do the same thing (see link).
