why don't people use the search button
yes honestly something as simple as that
Ive been using it since 2005 and went throe some bad times and forgot my password to my account (i was the hacker) yeah i was a douchebag but i changed but that's just summing up a long story...you see tons of people that just want the answers given to them
really how hard is it to search for answerer's rather then have them given to you
and isn't finding out something for yourself more rewarding then then just having it given to you
and really almost all the answers for the people that wanna take the easy way out can be figured out with simple mathematics (1+1=2)
i know i know there's a ton of new people on here that didn't learn how to do most of this stuff while in school (I'm no better, i went threw three tech classes and odd ones at that) but i still find answers by myself...mostly searching google

this is getting kinda blah so I'm just gonna hit the submit button

Well, I can see you're not trying to be an poop egress, and your points are quite valid. Still, there are nicer ways of saying this, though I wholeheartedly agree.

Best i can figure, there are a few reasons:
1) Humans are social creatures. They seek other people out, not necessarily seeking out raw information automatically.
2) Search is flawed on many websites. For example: Extremely limited number of searches in a row, arbitrary word length limits, ending up with pages of people being told to search.
3) One small change of wording or spelling and you get nothing or the wrong thing, instead of what you wanted information about when using a search engine. Humans have built-in limited spell check and can imply what you mean, or at the very least ask WTF you're talking about if you're way off in your terms or phrasing. While Google has spell check, and has a 'did you mean?' feature, it's no where near as robust as human interaction.
