Can someone confirm this method of controller splitting?

Yeah, that looks like it'll work.

on another picture I say 2 contact for the cut part above and below the 4 ones for left and right

but when I tore my contoller up...there were no contacts that needed to be soldered to

Are you guys talking about the ground? That picture is missing the ground connection.

Harshboy's diagram had a different looking controller PCB, but the extra connection were for ground.

just connect from anywhere on the d-pad's big green section to anywhere on the main controller's two big green sections. It completes the d-pad circuit.
