PSOne help?

I'm working on a portable PSOne. I desoldered the lid sensor switch and wan't to solder the connection points.(so the system will always recognize the disk lid as shut.) I have tried, and am pretty sure I'm soldering the right points. However every time I turn the system on the disk spins a couple times around then it goes to the system menu.(memory card / cd player) If anyone could point out what I'm doing wrong or give me some pointers it would me greatly appreciated. Thanks!
