Overclocking My Graphics card, No improvment at all?!?

Do you have a technical question that doesn't really fit a specific console? Want some general info on electronics, hacking, making cookies, etc? Here's the place to ask! Go nuts.

Overclocking My Graphics card, No improvment at all?!?

Post by Jongamer »

Well using the ATI Catalyst Control Center, I hit the Auto tune option in ATI Overdrive, and it set the clock after about 10min of running to 871mhz from 775mhz, and the memory overclocked by 200Mhz.

I ran a 3Dmark before I oced, and one after, both the scores are almost Identical.

But temps rose to like 60c, and before the overclock barely above 50c

Why? What am I doing wrong?

It looks like you have way too little ram for gaming on vista.

Bicostp: What do you do? Reply to a thread and then read it in the preview? :P

No I just don't pay much attention to sigs. :P

Throw a couple more gigs of RAM in that thing. Hopefully, use matching pairs because dual-channel makes things run better. (I have 1 free RAM slot in my HTPC, which can take either DDR1 or DDR2. Adding a 256mb stick to the existing 1 gig DDR1 made things slower.
