psone screen not working with composite

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

psone screen not working with composite

Post by Kyo »

This screen works fine when attached to a PSOne, but when I try to input composite from my atari (which works fine on my TV!), it just mocks me in form of a black screen.

I'm guessing I accidentally bridged some sort of "rgb mode switch" or summin'?

any help would be appreciated! thanks!

oh and by the way, this was working fine before!

Do you have any RGB sources around? If you do try testing the screen with one. If it still doesn't work, you probably fried the screen. If it does work than it has something to do with composite inputs.

Did you do the new mod or the old mod? I remember reading somewhere around here that the old composite mod doesn't work with the PSone screen and some TVs.

The old mod worked fine. Well after rewiring the cart slot it didn't work anymore, so I kinda figured it was the atari, but after connecting a new one (with a new composite mod), that didn't work either. Also I tried connecting my dvb-t receiver to it, that didn't work either. Maybe I should try connecting a SNES or something. I always have plenty of those anyway
