Variable oscillator?

Is there such a thing?
Would it be possible to make one?

It would be so cool if you could change game speed with a dial, instead of a switch.

Id be looking into "voltage controlled" type oscillators more than "variable crystals". Mainly because Ive never heard of the second one...

They sell voltage controlled oscillators on IC chips.
