In need of some information...

Do you have a technical question that doesn't really fit a specific console? Want some general info on electronics, hacking, making cookies, etc? Here's the place to ask! Go nuts.

In need of some information...

Post by Mediocre »

I am very new to these forums, I have been reading through a lot of the portable projects (when i should be working 8) ) and I am very very intrigued. I am looking to start up a hobby in electronics and do something similar to what you guys do here. I have a few questions though, and I'm hoping the answers will help get my future hobby off the ground. Aside from a Soldering iron, solder station.. what are some must have items to begin (i.e certain compacitors/resistors, plyers, screwdrivers .. that sort of thing) and is there an actual BEGGINER set that includes everything like this? One more question I have is, aside from actual schooling (very hard to do with my work schedule) what are some good resources/beginner projects that will help bring to fully understand what im doing, and eventually give me the knowledge to build my own portables. Even if you could give some info on where/how you started your hobby it would very much be a help. Thank you in advance for your help.

Electronics kits. They come with everything except the solder and the soldering iron needed to make one small project.

As for where to get spare parts, old electronics are useful. I think by now everyone has a box of them, and you just remove pieces as you need them.
Hey, sup?
