PS3 Problem

Post by xtrmgam3r360 »

Ok, so im thinking about buying a PS3. I found one that is only $75 but the discs won't load. Everything else works; you can move around the XMB and sign on and stuff like that but it won't load Game Discs. Is there an easy way to fix this?

Depends why the discs don't load.

If your lucky, it needs a new laser.
Anywhere from $40 to $75.

Just send it into sony for repair. Costs $150. $150 + $75 = $225. Way cheaper than a current PS3.

You may try opening it up and gently cleaning the laser. Blu-ray discs are sometimes harder to read than normal ones, or so I've heard.

If you clean the laser, use something that was designed to clean a laser. Otherwise it'll scratch

I hardly think people 'round here are worried about voiding warranties. Hell, Life of Brian's got a shirt that says "I void warranties".
