FS: Fujitsu lifebook B2630! EDIT: SOLD

Im dead flat broke and looking to buy a new laptop so my old lifebook has to go! i will include the (completly shot) extended battery which you could easily recell and get over 3 hours battery life with. specs:

Pentium 3 mobile processor 900mhz
256mb ram
10.1" touchscreen LCD with stylus
20gb hdd (11gb usable, i reccomend getting a new one eventually)
3com 802/11a/b/g X-jack wifi card (worth 40-50$ by itsself)
windows 2000 installed

because of the battery and mediocre HDD condition i would be willing to sell this laptop WITH the wifi card for SEE BELOW, if the battery was in good working condition and the hdd was able to be fully formatted i would be asking about 75$ more for it! this laptop runs GREAT for as low as the specs are i can run firefox 2 with several tabs , VLC, skype and trillian at the same time but thats pushing it to its limits, running firefox and trillian at the same time as well as other low resource using programs is not a problem at all! this laptop has been great for me and replacing the cells of the battery should make it a perfect laptop for basic computing needs

EDIT!: you can buy a BRAND NEW replacement battery on ebay for 65$ shipped!

yep that. its a very nice screen but not very bright direct light readable because of the touchscreen, fine for indoor use or outside on a cloudy day

BUMP $185 SHIPPED even after buying a brand new battery you probably wont find one cheaper on ebay that includes such a great wifi card!

last time i saw these on ebay they were in the 40-60$ range! the antenna is retractable and is flush with the side of the laptop when closed, no ugly protrusion!

I will sell the laptop for 155$ SHIPPED anywhere in the continental US without the wifi card!

THIS JUST IN! you can get 6 brand new 18650 LI-ION cells from batteryspace.com for 48$ before shipping so replacing the cells in my current battery will save you 15$ over buying a new battery on ebay!

Hate to burst your bubble, but the lifebook protection circuit resets when it get new cells, and refuses to work.

Possible to flash your own controller chip, but not an easy fix.

Then again, if you could somehow maintain voltage to the circuit while swapping cells...Maybe.

No, not at all. Especially compared to newer laptops, I have seen some sony batterys go for like $200!

Or, you could buy mine, which has a perfectly god battery that holds a charge for over 3 hours...

This is a good deal, guys, that wifi card is really nice! If I was not selling my lifebook, I would be buying his!

Triton, maybe an awesome paintjob would help it sell.

Timmeh said to just keep the old cells connected as you add the new ones, which could be done with alligator clips. I think using a ~3.7v power supply would be easier. You could put the clips on with the old batteries still in place, desolder old batteries, solder new batteries, remove power source. Just make sure the power supply can't provide too much current, so it doesn't rapidly charge the cells.
