Manufacture year of N64?
Is there a way to tell the manufacture year of my N64 without opening it?

Nope.
It says:
NINTENDO 64 Model No. NUS-001(USA)
But that just means that it's for a Nintendo Ultra Sixty-four, and it's 001. That means it's the console, and not the cord, or an add-on or anything.

Yeah, the serial numbers are what will tell you.bacteria wrote:Black ones were the old ones, coloured ones later. I don't think there are other clues, without opening them up; apart from lower serial numbers of course.
Oh, Black was from 1996 to 2001, I think the "colour"ed ones were in there somewhere.

My five black N64 have the following numbers:
10358247
10795323
11254397
15379956
15998615
I'd say that the first one is pretty good.
What I notice when comparing the first with the last is that the earlier models had the "DC 3.3V, DC12V" on a sticker, while on the later models it was molded in the case.
The earlier model is called "NUS-EUR" while the later one is called "NUS-EUR-1"
The earlier one has a (c) 1996 while the later one has a (c) 1996, 1997 on the sticker
That's all the differences I can spot, note that all of my 5 Systems are german and therefore PAL
