Where do you guys/gals buy your supplies?

I'm looking for some online stores to order various switches, supplies, things etc to build my projects with.

What are your recommendations?

Mouser.com and digikey.com are pretty popular. I haven't actually used either, though. I've got a few sellers on e-Bay I use, and I do get a lot of parts from dead computers.

Not necessarily Playstation2/3 or Xbox360 controller parts but micro-switches, leds, wires, project board, materials etc to buy.

He may find stores but he is asking for our opinions on the places we like and the places we think would fit his needs or had good experiences with.

Probably won't help you much, but for the sake of discussion:

-ebay - ebay usually has the items you want pricier than the electronic supplier of my choice, but sometimes, if you buy in large quantities and bid instead of using "buy now", you can get really good deals. It also has some items that normal suppliers don't have
- I've mentioned this a couple of times, because I love it just so much: www.reichelt.de Good deals, easy payment, wide selection and fast shipping
I found this is actually much cheaper than any of the american online retailers.
- www.buerklin.de - I've never actually bought anything there, but I intend to. They got EVERYTHING, apparently. It's nowhere near as pricy as reichelt, but they even have the crystals used in the PAL _AND_ NTSC snes, so I plan to NTSC-Mod my PAL SNES. (The newer 1chip board)

Whoah, this place is pretty damn awesome, you can order a catalog & cd and for their stock they have the autocad drawings for the parts.

Digikey. But keep in mind, try to order $25 or more or they hit you with an additional $7 fee. Which is hardly worth it, considering you could always just get $7 more of electronics.

Digikey is like the Future shop (circuit city? maybe?) of internet electronics.

If you know how to search their website you can find things like 4 cent resistors and 9 cent LEDs. And more ICs than you can shake a stick at.

Dont buy something like a $30 256 mb USB key or an $80 aluminum box from them though

At my work we deal with mcmaster-carr a lot, but I think they are more... industrial.

Also, everyone should learn about the acronym JFGI. I think it would make some discussions on here much more succinct (google it if you dont know

)
