any companyies that will make a premade case

Yes it is nice to be able to put your projects INSIDE something isn't it? You know, to hold everything together so it doesn't flop around? Discuss the techniques here!

well for xmas my girlfriend has gotten me the ben heck console hacking book, and i was wondering, i had a look at making the cases, and it looks kind of hard, so i was thinking is there a company that would make me one, if i gave then the specs of what it should be cut 2.

You can buy ready made cases off Ben or use a rapid prototyping type firm. Brian Gardiners palm ps1 and ps2 were made using a technique called selective laser sintering and Ben makes his cases using a CNC machine.

There are a great number of companies that make rapid prototypes or one-off designs; however their cost is usually pretty high due to the labor needed to produce just one case. A quick Google search will find plenty of such companies, but as of yet no one here has found an "ideal" solution for pre-made cases (ideal being low cost yet high quality).

another way to get premade cases is to gut some old electronics you have lying around somewhere (in case you don't like bacteria's ovals :) )

themadhacker - Thanks. I am looking forward to being in position to sell them. Got most of tomorrow for project work, hoping to finish the case and most of the spray painting too!

Arrow--> - Um, my case in question, the PlayStation one, is not oval. You are referring to my pre-vacuum forming efforts, not current work!

Make at home.

No idea how many will sell, have to assume small numbers, which means keeping costs down and more labour on my part.

I think he's talking about your mini multi-system. But that's only one case... :?

if you don't have an aversion to cutting stuff, you could get an enclosure called the zn-40 or other models in that line. The basic structure will be there while you are left the task of cutting out holes and stuff.

Also, a game gear case has plenty of room for a noac or an atari portable

Game Gear cases are a bit ugly in comparison to other systems out there; my view anyway. I know you can make them look better, but a fair bit of effort.

you could always build a vacuum former too, the results are semi-professional

Absolutely; in fact, the results can look quite commercial; compared to other handheld game systems on the market, and similar. It isn't however easy to get a vacuum formed mold made right, needs a lot of thought beforehand and can also be expensive.

Expensive?

I paid about 35€ for plastic sheets, vacuum former parts and the modelling clay
