Fixing a Backlight Diffuser Layer/EDIT I Broke the Screen...

When I was gluing in the LEDs for my White LED backlight mod, I accidentally got some of the glue on the the top diffuser sheet. It won't peel off, and it's visible through the screen. Is there anyway that I could remove the glue and repair the diffuser sheet?

I was thinking that maybe I could use a very fine grit sandpaper, maybe 600 or 800, to remove the glue, and give it a uniform dullness once again. Any ideas?

Update: After installing the backlight successfully, I broke the screen somehow. Whenever I turn it on, the screen turns green. then the color slowly fades. Anyone know what I might have blown/broken?

A drop of denatured alcohol or 99% isopropyl alcohol takes it right off.

I probably should have mentioned that I was using Krazy Glue. Will that still work?

If it doesn't, the stock sheets aren't the ONLY thing that can diffuse light. Hell, even some thin paper might do the trick. (Paper actually reflects a hell of a lot of light, try something else first.)

In all seriousness, you could have broken it. But by the sounds of it, you just screwed something up. Try checking the board VERY CAREFULLY, bit by bit, between every connection, for a cold solder joint, or a bridged connection. I'm sure you'll find one. Probably near the big ICs.

I found a couple wires that had come unsoldered and re attached them, but now I have another problem. First of all, I heard a loud pop and saw smoke, and now there's no sound. I assume this means that the audio amp IC fried, but I have no idea.Also, when I turn on the screen, everything(other than the audio) is fine, but after a few seconds the screen's brightness gradually goes up until I can't see the image on the screen. The brightness knob on the screen also doesn't work. Any ideas on how I could fix these problems?
