Help !!!!!!!! Im stuck !!!!

i am making a xbox 360 laptop and i am stuck with the heatsink ( i think its the CPU one ) . its the big one wich currently is the highest standing object on my console . does anyone have any tips on how to make it smaller . and yes before u say i have looked on engaget and seen how ben heck did it but it doesent look like a very efficent way to do it . so basically i am asking if any1 can tell me how to minimise the heatsink . is there another heatsink that i can swap it with ??? ty for your help !!

Yes, you can swap it with something wider and less big, but make sure it won't get too hot.

thanks for the reply but that is a very vague answer. can you be a bit more specific please. can i completely swap it with a different heat sink or what??

Your question has already been answered. Kyo is saying that you can put in a new heatsink.

i understand what your trying to say but the 360's heatsink is quite unique . the type of thing i am looking for is one the same as the GPU. i need to make the xbox about 4cm and the only thing holding me back is the copulate heatsink which is really starting to piss me off . sorry i am just angry. but seriously i am writting this with a bottle of whiskey in my hand hoping to have some sort of a apifony. thanks though, for the imput

P.S.S. just thought u guys should know I AM BUILDING THE LAPTOP KNOW AM NOT JUST SOME GUY WHO GOES ON THIS FORUM AND SAYS "am going to build one"

I'll be the first to admit I don't know much about X-Box 360's, but I doubt you're going to find one that small that will work with the 360. Larger surface area means more cooling. If your heatsink is too small, and your case doesn't have very much air circulation, the 360 will just overheat. There is a reason the heatsinks are large and there is empty space in the case.

ty for the imput. i mean i will not make the CPU heatsink microscopic. it can still be big but not long . ( i know guys " thats what she says") as long as it it flat then its all good .

Try water cooling.
Or really Expensive heatsinks that are made of .999 precious metal
Silver/Copper
They will do the ticket, I used to have some in silver($.25 each, regularly $50), but gave them to the chess team for a computer otherwise id give you some they are nice, and work REALLY Well. At least I could tell
