Idea for ps360 controller, looking for input :D

Post by jrroelle »

Hey,

Ever since I saw Ben's ps360 controller I have been very interested in making one of my own but I wanted to keep the same feeling of the original 360 controller as far as buttons. Tact switches don't seem like they would work for what I want. After seeing RDC's wired 360 inside a DS3(http://forums.benheck.com/viewtopic.php ... ight=3ps60) I was wondering if the same approach of using the original board as a placeholder could work in a 360 controller with the DS3 board underneath? I am a complete novice but I am willing to invest as much time as needed and money isn't an issue. Is this possible? Either way I'd appreciate some input.

Thanks
RDC

Yep it can, and has been. ;) This one was done using a Wired CL version 360 controller board for the 'placeholder' and one of the older DS3 controllers, but I use the Wireless Matrix one most of the time now as they're more common, though it can be done with any of them really except the CG version, just too big a pain there to separate all the grounds.

There are also 2 versions of DS3 controller now as well and they have different TP spots for the wiring, the new version has also done away with the connector that made some of the wiring a little easier.

This is one is just about done and was made with the Wireless Matrix version of 360 board and the newer DS3 board.

Screwing up is one of the best learning tools, so long as the only thing you're not learning is how to screw up.
