ps1 no audio!

Hi, i recently repaired burnt PSU and sony is now working ok except for the sound. Any suggestion for this? I checked all usual things such as cable, fuses on the board etc. There is a click when console is powered up but no intro sound....the model is scph-9001

Buy a new one, PS1 or PSone consoles are dirt cheap these days.

Does the PS1 have a seperate sound chip?

if so, it might be fried

the first model probably did but i think it was integrated into one of the ASICs in later models.

Try putting in some headphones and see if there's any sound that way.

don't bump old threads. the reason he no longer posted in this thread is because he either gave up and bought another ps1, or solved the problem. so your imformation doesn't matter to him anymore.

Yes, I made a headphone jack and rca connector for video signal, but I got new free board from the guy who sold me psu that was also burnt.... sorry for not responding, didn`t visit this section for a while
My psx is working great now and I painted in dark blue, looks nice now....
