My current project is simple and boring. I have several phat PS1 consoles. I supplement my income by repairing game consoles and selling them. Unfortunately, when I went to do my homework, by the time I get power cords, av cords, etc. I'd have to sell them at a loss, according to current e-Bay prices.
Instead, I'll be cleaning these up, inside and out, getting all the cords, controllers, etc. as well as some memory cards and some (hopefully not-too-lame) games. Then, I'm going to donate it all to a family outreach center. Parents can go and "shop" through the donations for their kids. It'll hopefully let someone have a happier Christmas than they might have had.
Anyway, pics. Boring as heck, but whatever.

This console has a broken spindle, so it's been thrown into the parts pile. I've got some really disgusting case pieces I need to replace, so I'll swipe them from this one. The controllers are also dead and will be used as parts.

These consoles and controllers haven't been tested yet.

Some controllers that just need to be cleaned, and the only AV cord I have at the moment. Interestingly enough, all those controllers are first party.

Gutted controllers and console, waiting for the casings to finish drying. Also, a half-way decent Bugs Bunny game I'll kind of be sad to give up. I really need to clean the bench, though.

Case pieces laying out to dry in front of the furnace. Pipe organ and piano parts in the background.
So there you have it. Nothing new or innovative, or even particularly engaging. But it's what I'm working on, so whatever.
