Years and Years ago (2003 i think) i came across an article linked from milkandcookies.com about someone who had built "portable" N64, it ran on a whole ton of regular AA batteries. I thought it was pretty cool but didnt put much thought to it.

Years later i started an Electronics Course at school and remembered that, so i thought i'd have a go at making a portable SNES (as it was smaller) and found an article that contained parts of the How to from Ben's book and one thing led to another and i ended up here.

I still intend on finishing that portable i started all those years ago

i can't find it definitely, but i'm fairly certain that i first heard of ben in an issue of nintendo power (circa 2001-2002...?). i remember there being a letter that was sent in with a picture of an atari portable. if memory serves correctly, it was this one:

anyway, i thought it was really cool, but kinda forgot about it until i was in college and had free internet access at all times. it was around my jr year in 2003 or 2004 when i remembered the atari portable and started researching. i've been following his progress since then. it just took me a while to actually sign up to the forums he started. and then it took me a little while longer to actually become active.

you can learn a lot by being a lurker...
they call me the Queen of Bondo, though maybe i should be called the Queen of Epoxy Putty

I think I read about ben in EGM way back in the day and then sometime later found portables of doom, then stumbled onto the benheck forums and lurked for awhile and then joined.

Well, two years ago, I typed in "dreamcast" on google, and a portable DC showed up. awhile later, i found the picture again, and clicked on it. it took me to some web page(can't remember which) with people's portables on it. Ben's jagaur portable was on it, with a link to his site. i went to the site, and started lurking for months. after a few minor projects, I joined.

i ran across this article about the ps3 laptop. led me here, then i lost this site bc i didnt bookmark it. then, surfing the acidmods forums i ran across portable hacking. that turned me here for an xbox 360 laptop. this site has been a great help in building mine.

Still do, you're a fine example of the type of human scum that causes everything that's wrong with the world  . The other mods are relatively cool though. I haven't been here in a long time (long enough to forget my password) but extreme boredom made me pop in today.

I'm pretty sketchy on how I found the site. I was probably bored and surfing the web.

Anyways I searched n64 modding and found marshallh's first n64p. I was inspired by it. I searched to see if there were more and found rpgt_nick's(is that his name?) and ben's. I found the forums on his site, and after beginning my adventure, I registered.

I don't know if you have acknowledged my existance yet marshall, but thanks for making that first n64p! It managed to bring me here!

Um, it hasnt changed. I figured I should let everyone know that, since this officially a long bump.

Friend of mine built his first portable and showed me. He hasn't had much time lately, being in Uni, though.
