My wiki-like console modding/portabilization site

Post by Kyo »

It's kind of like a mix between a wiki and a wordpress. A wiki would be kind of overkill, so I threw together my own little system. It can be viewed here:

http://wocares.com/modding/

So far, there's only one article in the SNES category, which is really more of a test, but that's where you come in play.

It's similar to portablesofdoom minus the content, but the difference is that here, everyone can submit an article. I'll look at it, approve it, and it's there.

Feel free to post suggestions, critique and feedback, and make sure to publish some articles!

Oh! And make sure to post some name suggestions as well, I got nuffin'

This is a great idea, but it's in serious need of some content.

If I feel the call, I'll run through some of the stickies and throw some articles up.

I thought about doing that, but I don't like just taking everything without asking for permission.

I'll make all the common stuff like lockout for snes/nes later. I might also ask some sites for permission to mirror articles, giving credits of course.

These types of sites have a lot of potential, but we always get more people that just say they'll help write it than people who will. If we get some serious people, I'll help.

Ask permission for all diagrams, and I'm sure they will let you have it.

What is the point in using a switch with six legs, though?

I guess I'll make a battery category, and upload it, if you don't want to.

Well six legs, so off=you can charge it(The four pins on the left
and on=play it, without trying to recharge batteries that couldn't be do so when in use
You dont have to use it, but it could help people like valium will do stuff as well(Read earlier post of his)

oh wait, I get it now. One is ground and the other one is the current. You could just switch the current and connect all grounds if you don't have those kind of switches available, though.

Anyway, I uploaded it.

We have some articles now. I'm still sending out Pms asking for permission to use this and that and sending out emails, but the site is building up nicely.

Also, I added a category for finished mods/portables. So if anyone wants to submit their portable, and maybe pimp out their homepage while doing that, I'd be happy if you did.

I want to remind people that this still exists. So far I've put up every article but one =/

The good news is that it now actually has quite some content, especially in the SNES section

I'll keep adding more.
