I used to use Photoshop and they have those point-to-point "cutters." The ones that you click and will make a point and if you make enough points and you loop it and connect to the first point, it will be selected where you can delete it.
Now I have the GIMP and they have those retarded "Intelligent Scissors." When I make a point with them, the line "sticks" to something instead of making a straight line. This is irritating, and I can't have clean cuts like the one I would like.
Is there any way to make the intelligent scissors cut in a straight line and not stick to objects?

I think you want the polygonal lasso tool.

Okay friends, I have an HP Color Laser 3600n Printer. I always have my laser printer sleeping (not standby), and I occasionally print pages (may be less than 50 pages per year). Is my HP Color Laser 3600n Printer hazardous or dangerous to my health? Is it possible to conclude that this is true with all the recent laser printer news? Thank you very much in advance.
Check out GimpShop, it's a modified Gimp. They basically changed the menus and layout to be more like Photoshop, so it might be what you need.
It's kept up-to-date with Gimp so all the nice little tools and fixes are included.

As for Photoshop, I found a copy of version 7 for 350 Euros, but that's pretty expensive. Look up Photoshop Elements, which has basically everything you'll ever need, without costing a fortune.
