I'd say compare it to say the Hydra and then make ask if it's over priced.

Really I like the idea of a little console you can program on. I've wanted to get a XGS for a long time, but it's nearly $200. This thing is $100 for a whole kit, I have trouble arguing with that kind of price and power. And besides it uses one of the best retro controllers ever, the SNES.

I'm going to look at it closer and see if after Christmas I have the money to buy one. I'd love to sit down and try my hand at coding a game. I've wanted to do it for years, but I want it to be for a console, not PC.

I am a geek.

blackbox_dev wrote:$70 for a professionally made PCB is reasonable.

I thought this was the Uzebox at first (which somewhat inspired the ever-continuing BB project).

Anyway, it's pretty cool. It makes more sense to breadboard/protoboard it if you want to save money, however.

Well you gotta consider the fact that these are not mass produced.

They're not making hundreds of thousands, they're making hundreds, if that.

Well whose fault is that :D

Nah, it's just that it's really not worth it, cause you can just do it on breadboard, or buy something better for the money
