PSOne screen at 5V

Simple question: will it run?

I hear it uses 7.5 slash 5 volts, but is it able to only run at 5V?

Couldn't find anything searching for it. Thanks.

It has been discussed before, but its probably hard to find searching. No it will not run on 5v. It needs somewhere around at least 7v. Something about the 7805 runs most of it, but the 7.5v is needed for something or something like that

. So no but I can't remember why.

A PSone screen needs a minimum of 6.89v to run. At least, ones I have tried do.

Looks like the LCD backlight and the LCD controller require 7 volts.

I got it running off of 2 AAs actually. You just need a couple step-ups.

It's not good on battery life, though. If I am unsatisfied with the alternatives, I'll probably do that as well, but we'll see.
