Tibia - You won't be able to just connect to a single cart slot to make it work for the SNES and NES as it wouldn't work unless all connections were similar and common, otherwise you will get signals conflicting.

I have a way which might work though, using the principles of my previous work - it is a question of how small the peripheral can be made as to if it is viable: one cart slot with adapter basically. Will document when I get to doing that project in a couple of month's time...

Frankly, I don't care, I have no interest in trying it. He asked a question, I just stated that it had been attempted, and by whom. It's not something I care to dick around with. I'm not an electrical engineer, my game console can be powered by magic ponies and I'm happy with it.

been there, tried that, didn't work.

i even accidentally erased my game saves on a game in my attempt.

that's why there is no info of my attempt here on the site. why post something that was a complete fail?

rekarp had a look into doing it. he said it is pretty much not possible. and with him being an EE, i think i'll take his word. not to mention I ALREADY TRIED IT (with rekarps help, mind you).

I know about the Boston Tea Party. My school has been through several text books that have chapters about the dumping of the tea. I just decided to jokingly state my liking of coffee over tea.

I just got done with this in my AP US history class. I know all about that crap. Just to put my view in here, YES Metric System, NO Euro, and YES Global standard for television. The metric system makes a lot more sense than the US system. If we switched to the Euro, I'd miss seeing Good ol' George (George Washington, not King George

) everyday. He's on the 1 dollar bill if our European friends aren't familiar with our currency The US is defiantly behind in updating our standards in the ever changing global situation.

At least Bush is going to be gone soon. Bleh.

I referred to "using the principles of my previous work" as you may recall.

It is entirely possible to manage to make it work; you just need to think out of the box.

You need to make an adapter by wasting a SNES and a NES cart slot and a SNES and NES cart for the pin contact boards. Relocate the contacts from the SNES cart slot and NES cart slot so they are sat on top of each other (after reducing their sizes); then you plug in an adapter you made, which connects into one or the other depending on the system you wish to play, then the game cart into it.

Issue is thickness, and finished length of assembly which I will need to ascertain if practical.

Quite feasible, but will take a while to make.

That looks like an awesome thing to use for a lappy....I wonder if you can split it into different parts though..or all parts have to be together for it to work...a really small NOAc portable could be made without much modding if you can...

The Retro duo and the other dual clones can be split. You can't always get two consoles out of them, though. Or three, in this case. Sometimes, both the power board and controller board are needed for it to work.

sure, that will work.

but the point is getting it to be 1 cart slot. you're still using 2. in fact, you're gonna be using 3 cart slots according to that model. the point of getting it to 1 cart slot is to keep it as small as possible. this will add too much to the portable.

Other option is with loads of switches; again, not ideal but at least it only uses one cart slot then.
