Just throwing a suggestion out in the wild here...
With M$'s decision to not support usb plug n play mice, has anyone tried to mod a PS3 Splitfish control to work on the 360?
I have a few ideas floating around in my head currently, and I'd love to try this out myself but at the moment funds are tight, plus I don't own a 360 or a splitfish.
I know quite a few 360 owners who would love to know if this is do-able...

I don't see it happening.
The splitting of the 360 controller PCB and making it fit into the small controller casing would be difficult, but not impossible.
The real challenge, which goes beyond simple modding, is the mouse. The way I understand it, the splitfish's chip translates the mouse signals into analog joystick signals for the PS3 to understand. The 360 controller's chip was designed to only work with analog stick signals and would need a new chip to work with mouse signals.
There is a chance that I'm wrong and that the Mouse component is self contained and could just be swapped out, but i don't think so.

It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.

thanks for some more insight!
I can safely say this project will be shelved by me for a later date, as I have to many other commitments at the moment. But I'd still like to have a crack at it!
... I had assumed the pesky analogue control would be the main problem.
I can't understand why the guys @ Splitfish haven't made a 360 version of there product yet.

heheh, thanks... yes I am aware of that adapter... although, the people that got me thinking about the original idea had already tried that and reported that it wasn't very good. They had some problems configuring/binding keys in certain games, and the mouse wasn't as accurate as it should be.
I'm glad I have a PS3 =)
