I would imagine they're pretty rare. How much did it run you?

Wow, be sure to take tons of pictures for us!

Sadly the manuals were most of the time chucked out with them (If only they knew then how much it would be worth now! )

Mind posting a link to the auction please!

Have fun and look after it! :D

So, were these just used by nintendo or were they available in stores? You better take good care of that thing! It could be very useful to a lot of retro gamers! So could this be helpful for people trying to figure out whats wrong with their blinking NESs?

if its rare or not, keep it since you cant really take NES controllers into stores for repairs and stuff these days.

Yes, it's very rare. Only the nintendo repair stores had them and most of them were just chucked out by order of ninty when the snes overtook as Nintendo wanted to stop the repairs of the nes to increase the sales of the nes. Sad really as at the end of the day all Nintendo cared about was the money! :(

I remember I while ago the whole set of nintendo repair manuals came up on ebay (Which only ninty authorised repair centres had)

Oh, and post it in the news section when it comes!

Edit: Is the controller the special one the connectors are joined together.
(As that the one that came with them when new)

I presume you just bought it as you are nuts about the NES but probably in practice don't actually have a use for it?? (ie avid collector of anything to do with the subject).

If you are an avid collector of the NES, you might be looking to get all games released on the NES on PAL and NTSC, and versions of the consoles, especially as I presume that different versions of the same game would have different decals. If that is the case, let us know what you need, it might be that someone has what you want!
