Gamecube laptop: need some asnwers

I just saw that i can buy a keyboard specially designed for a gamecube.
I have a few questions:
Can a gamecube run windows? or Mac OS? or linux for that matter?
and if it cant, is there any way for me to hack it so that it will be able to run one of those?

Windows? Not natively. You probably can't even run it on an emulator under Linux because you only have 32 MB of RAM and a 500 mhz PowerPC processor to play with, and there's no writable storage so you can't swap anything out of memory. Windows basically only runs on x86 processors. There's no way you can make Windows run natively without building an entirely new motherboard from scratch.

Mac OS X? Not natively. While the Gamecube does have a PowerPC processor like the G4 and G5 Macs, it's got no storage and basically no memory.

Linux? Yes, but it's just a nearly useless tech demo at this point.

If you want something to run videos on the TV with, either get a video card for yoru computer with TV-out, get an original Xbox and put Xbox Media Center on it, or pick up a pack of DVD+-RW discs.

wow, i tried that linux thing....
is there a simpler way? like just installing the cd on it?

What are you talking about?

"Just install the CD on it"? There's nothing to install an OS onto! The Gamecube just has the disc drive and its 32 megs of RAM, no hard drive, no flash storage, no nothing.

I believe he means just burn a CD with Linux on it, like you can with a Dreamcast or PC.

The answer is no, unfortunately, argelfraster.

If you want an OS or Linux on a console, the Xbox (Original) is your best choice

as soon as i finish my gamecube portable ( Xcube )(buying plastic for case 2morrow) ill start an xbox laptop. ill keep u all informed.
