I have an extra dc that freezes at the start where it says dreamcast.
Does anyone know what the problem is?

It doesn't shut off, just stays on the screen. I've left it on for a couple hours and it still didn't move from that screen.Grandmasterjimmy wrote:It freezes or shuts off?
If it shut's off, it has to do with the system getting power. There's a few causes for that, the pins for the PSU might not be making contact, or fan not plugged in properly.
If it's just hanging on the Dreamcast screen, I'm not sure what the problem is.

There could be some blown capacitors inside the system. Open it up and look for some capacitors that are bulging and/or giving off a "fish" smell.
The same thing happened to my console. I had a few blown caps. Works fine now.
Or maybe somethings wrong with the CPU, or firmware.
Also, is it freezing with a game in, or no game in the system?

I'll try the caps.HotDog-Cart wrote:There could be some blown capacitors inside the system. Open it up and look for some capacitors that are bulging and/or giving off a "fish" smell.
