Tell me which of these two motherboards I should get.

Do you have a technical question that doesn't really fit a specific console? Want some general info on electronics, hacking, making cookies, etc? Here's the place to ask! Go nuts.

Should I get this Gigabyte Mobo.

Or this MSI Board

I already have the Graphics card, and price is not the Issue, just tell me which one I should go for.

If your wondering what Graphics card I am getting, it is a
Sapphire Radeon 3870 512MB.

Up yours Nvidia Fanboys :P

Well AMD products have better bang for your buck, not necessarily as good as Nvidia, but Nvidia and Intel stuff is quite a bit more expensive than AMD.

Just to let you know this computer is only gonna be $550 at max (Minus Keyboards, Mice, and Monitor.)

Alright, just you wait until Core i7. Expensive as hell but it slays the best Phenom. Core i7 is 165% faster than a Phenom.

<s>Actually, didn't they release the i7 in the last couple days?</s>

Yes, they did. You can get the 2.66 ghz model and an Intel motherboard for under $600 at Tiger Direct. However, since it's so new, it's obviously going to be expensive. (Another 40 bucks will get you a monster EVGA board with 6 DDR3 slots, 3 PCIe 2.0 x16 slots, and tons of other goodies.)

I'd go with the MSI motherboard, since I trust them more than Gigabyte.

So I got 2 for Gigabyte (a Friend of mine said Gigabyte, Harshboy says Gigabyte, Bic says MSI, and I was leaning towards the MSI Board myself.

So still kinda at a deadlock here

Depends what you need here...

MSI Board: More Legacy Support, Max 8GB of Ram, 6 SATA Ports, 4 USB Ports + More
Gigabyte Board: More PCI-E x1 Slots, Max 16GB of Ram, 4 SATA Ports, 6 USB Ports + More

Based on what I use a Computer for and expandability I would go with the Gigabyte.

It's your choice, they are pretty much the same price and neither one is truly better than the other. Just depends what you want...heck, choose which one looks cooler for all I care.

Um, I don't. My computer really did cost $1800 when I bought it (Well my Dad, it was my birthday present), and my Macbook also cost $1800 when I bought it (Took a whole summer to get it).

ahh

Well I settled on Microatx.

I found a Nice Motherboard and CPU Combo.

Gigabyte Motherboard:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813128090

AMD Phenom 9600 Agena 2.3GHz Quad

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6819103244

I was gonna get a Triple Core, but that felt odd having only 3 cores, not to mention, cheaper for me to get the Quad in the Combo, and I had picked out that motherboard before I even realized there was a nice Combo Deal for a Quad, so don't think I just chose the motherboard cause it had a nice deal :P
