hey, i bought ben's book and i'm soldering for the first time. i forgot what kind of solder the book said to get and the woman at radio shack told me to get the smallest possible, which is .022". however, i just checked the book and it says he uses .032", and to get .03" to .08". will i be ok? should i return it? should i just keep it to practice with, or is it just too small? and if you feel the need to say that's what she said, please keep in in your head, thanks.
You may want to watch a few you tube videos on soldering as well. And practice on some scrap components. That alarm clock you've thrown on the floor for the 15th time and is now dead is the perfect candidate.

Now I'm nitpickding again. (You can't spell nitro2k01 without nit) But you can actually get too thin solder. Solder made for SMD components will not work vry well for hole mounted components.
But I agree with Neildo, .022" is a good size.
