Wii remote problems (no not syncing problems)

Post by Jongamer »

Ok I put freshly recharged batteries into my Wii remote, I turn on my Wii just fine, as soon as I press the A button to skip the health screen, the remote dies, then would not turn on for another min or 2, after it turns on again I move the cursor around the screen no prob, but once I hit a button it goes dead.

Any clue as to why this is doing this? A fix would be nice cause my warranty has long since expired.

Buy a new one, put the broken one in the new one's packaging, bring it back to the store with a confused look on your face. "It just won't work!!"

That's what I did when my wrist strap failed during an epic backhand in WiiSports Tennis and the Wiimote hit the wall.
If you're looking at this post and it was made before 2008, just ignore it.

Why not try actually replacing the batteries first?

Rechargables crap out on you after a certain number of cycles.

Try yelling at it. I know like yelling at my soup makes it taste better and more salty.

(Cookies to anyone who knows what thats from. "Man who thinks yelling at his soup is salt")

Had that problem with the rechargables in my Wii remotes as well, pretty much the exact same symptoms.

Not the batteries, they work just fine in my other wii remote and 360 controller.

I might do exactly what I did with my 360 controller, though it wasn't my fault that this controller isn't working like it was with my 360 controller.

Only thing that ever happened to this Wii remote, was like a year ago I was playing Wii bowling, being stupid and didn't where a wrist strap, and it flung into the TV, but was still working for a long time after that incident.

probably the batteries are crapped, but it also seem happen only when you hit the A buttom (maybe a shorcut? ) , try open the wiimote and clean circuit surface with alcohol, check also if there is any metalic part moving arround there.
